ROLLO TOMASI - 'The Fear Is Unsafe'

ROLLO TOMASI - 'The Fear Is Unsafe'

[SFR022]  Rollo Tomasi's fourth album 'The Fear Is Unsafe' shows no signs of the band relaxing its sound. The tension and aggression in their music has reached new heights as they approach their twentith year of being a band. Perpetual torch bearer Neil Sandler (Gauge, Traluma, Supporting Actress) teams with guitarist Jeff Larsen (First Grade Crush, Hayweek), drummer James Staffel (Yakuza, Svlphvrvs), and bassist/engineer Chris LaFrombois for this recording. Brad Bischoff plays bass for them now. Even though some of the band's "sweetest" moments yet can be found on this release their heaviest of tendencies still remain as the foundation. Visit rollotomasi.bandcamp.com or your favorite outlet for the riffs, rage, and protest that is Rollo Tomasi.

DICKEY MO - 'One More Time'

DICKEY MO - 'One More Time'

[SFR020]  Dickey Mo was a staple in the early Shakefork days. If they weren't playing the show, they were probably in the audience. Unfortunately, only one of their songs was properly released during their run. "Sunny Sun Sun" appeared on 'No Punks in the Pit' [SFR005] though it was not their only recording. In early 1990, Dickey Mo recorded three songs with Phil Bonnet for a Shakefork seven inch that never materialized. Later that year, Dickey Mo recorded six more with him to then be released as an album but it found the same fate. As the band came to a close, those nine songs were dubbed to a handful of cassettes for their friends. Certianly not the release they intended or deserved. 'One More Time' finally combines that tape and their compilation song into a formal digital album. Download all ten songs including the digital booklet at dickeymo.bandcamp.com or stream from your service of choice.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS - 'An Elegant Tease With More Report.'

[SFR019]  'An Elegant Tease With More Report.' expands their debut seven inch (recorded July 1995) into a full length album spanning their entire recording history. In addition to the original three songs it combines unreleased and demo recordings, compilation appearances and even a "dub style" remix by Kevin J. Frank from their album recording in May 1997. All of this material has been remastered and is available digitally for the first time. Download all ten songs including the digital booklet and a collection of show fliers at supportingactress.bandcamp.com or find it wherever you listen to music.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS - 'Playing the Part'

[SFR018]  'Playing the Part' turns twenty this year so we're celebrating with a special digital reissue. It has been remastered and reunited with an additional song from the same session. For the unfamiliar, Supporting Actress was a trio primarily based in Normal, IL made up of Steven T. Zydek (guitar, vocals), Aaron McCann (drums), and Neil Sandler (bass). The album was recorded by Kevin J. Frank in May of 1997 and released later that year by Pete Havranek's Playing Field Recordings. MANNEQVIN HAND - 'Motherlode'

MANNEQVIN HAND - 'Motherlode'

[SFR017]  In January of 1991, Manneqvin Hand recorded four songs intended for release on Shakefork entitled 'Raging Bull.' It was the Glen Ellyn band's last recording and it sat on the shelf for twenty-six years. Although in a format different from originally intended, we are finally able to bring you this release in digital form. With the inclusion of 'Jow.' [SFR001] and the infamous goldenrod cassette (featuring "Thermometer" also found on [SFR005] 'No Punks in the Pit'), 'Motherlode' is the long overdue collection of their recordings. Each song has been remastered from the highest quality audio available in Spring 2017. Download all ten songs including a digital booklet featuring a ton of photos and fliers at manneqvinhand.bandcamp.com. Also grab their Spring 1989 four track recording '4TRK' (released in July 2018) featuring earlier versions of "Why Can't I Be?" and "Nothing Left to Say.

RED VILLAIN - 'Into the City's Arms'

RED VILLAIN - 'Into the City's Arms'

[SFR013]  A Chicago based trio made up of Scott "Gub" Conway, Craig Olson, and Neil Sandler. Their combined influence yields a unique, yet familiar post hardcore sound. Gub's powerful vocal performance backed by driving instrumentation reminds us of why we got into bands like these in the first place. After regularly playing out for a few years, their visit to Blam Recording in 2006 is what ultimately became their debut album. Download Red Villain's 'Into the City's Arms' at redvillain.bandcamp.com or stream/purchase these ten songs from your favorite outlet today.

GAUGE - 'II'

GAUGE - 'II'

[SFR012]  The second half of Gauge's discography was originally planned as a companion CD to 'I' (Tree Records, 2000) but it was never realized. In 2010, in conjunction with their reunion shows, 'II' was finally made available as 21 song digital release. Expertly remastered by Carl Saff, this collection combines the '43' 10" (Actionboy, 1995), the 'Fire Tongue Burning Stomach' album (Underdog, 1994), "Snowsuit" (a previously unreleased song from the 'FTBS sessions), the 'Swing' 7" (Underdog, 1993), "Snowflake" from 'A Very Punk Christmas' 2x7" (Rocco/Further Beyond 1994), and "Blank" from 'It's a Punk Thing, You Wouldn't Understand' [SFR009] recorded along with the 'Soothe' album. Download it now at gauge.bandcamp.com or stream it from your favorite service.

GAUGE - 'I'

GAUGE - 'I'

[SFR11.5]  Part 'I' was originally released as a CD by Tree Records in 2000. The concept was to release two separate CDs that when brought together would span Gauge's entire discography and history. Unfortunately, that record label came to an end before the second part was completed. In 2010, Shakefork digitally reissued 'I' so both volumes could finally be paired together. This 23 song collection begins with their demo which includes the two songs from the free 7" [SFR04.5], followed by their debut 7" 'Blank' [SFR007] a couple songs from compilations, and finally their debut album 'Soothe' (Radius/THD 1993). Listen now via your favorite digital outlet or download it from gauge.bandcamp.com.

GAUGE - 'Mints' 7”

GAUGE - 'Mints'  7"

[SFR011]  After sixteen quiet years, Shakefork rang the bell again with this 7" from Gauge. 'Mints' was created as a "thank you" for the attendees of their March 2010 reunion show. This record echoes their very first vinyl release which was also given out at a show back in 1991. Newly recorded versions of "Feed the Dry" and "Sheephurter" fill the grooves. The download includes two bonus songs, "Stinksmell Boy" and the premiere of "New Jerk," from the same Electrical Audio session which took place fifteen years after their last recording. White vinyl only. Available for mail order and digitally from gauge.bandcamp.com or your favorite online outlet.
